What “Hunter Douglas Gallery Dealer” means, for Westover Hills and west Fort Worth homeowners
A Hunter Douglas Gallery Dealer is a showroom dealer: a store that displays the Hunter Douglas line working, can offer the complete product line, and is the level Hunter Douglas lets dealers name to customers. For you it means you can see and operate the products before you buy, and deal with one local store from consultation through installation and service.
If you live in Westover Hills, the small town on Fort Worth's west side, or anywhere on the west side, you have probably seen “Hunter Douglas dealer” on a lot of websites. Many companies sell Hunter Douglas. They are not all the same kind of business, and the difference matters most after the order is placed.
Dealers are not all the same
Hunter Douglas sells through independent dealers. Some are showrooms with the products on the floor. Some work entirely from a van and a sample book, visiting homes. Both can sell you a shade. Hunter Douglas groups its dealers into levels, and Gallery is the level it reserves for showroom dealers and allows those dealers to present to the public.
Interior Fabrics, at 5700 W Vickery Blvd, is a Gallery Dealer, and the only Gallery level showroom in Fort Worth proper.
What you get at a Gallery showroom
The products, working, in real light
A photo cannot tell you how much light a room-darkening honeycomb actually blocks, or how a sheer shading looks with the sun behind it. At a Gallery showroom the displays are set up so you can raise, lower, and tilt them yourself. If you are going to change your mind, it is far better to do it with the real thing in your hand than after the order.
The complete line, including the exclusive collections
Gallery dealers have access to the full Hunter Douglas line: blinds, shades, shutters, sheers, and honeycombs, with motorization. Some collections, such as Alustra and Origins, are carried by Gallery dealers. If you have seen one in a magazine or a friend's house, a Gallery showroom is where you can see it in person.
The Right Choice Promise and the warranty
Hunter Douglas offers the Right Choice Promise: if a style or color is not right once it is installed, you can exchange it within 21 days. Its products are also backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Ask us about the current terms when you visit, since Hunter Douglas sets them, not the dealer.
One store from start to finish
We measure your windows ourselves and install what you order. If something needs service later, you call the same number. That continuity is most of what you are buying when you choose a local showroom over a sample-book visit.
How to check a dealer's status
The dealer locator on the Hunter Douglas website lists local dealers and shows which ones are Gallery showrooms. It is worth a look before you commit to anyone, including us.
What Gallery status does not mean
It does not mean online prices or online ordering. Hunter Douglas products are custom made for each window, and Hunter Douglas dealers do not sell them through a shopping cart. The price comes after a consultation and measurement, which at Interior Fabrics are free and carry no obligation.
It also does not mean you have to buy the whole house at once. Plenty of people start with the one window that bothers them most. If that is a hot west window, our post on west-facing windows is a good place to start.
See it for yourself
The showroom is open Monday to Friday 9 to 5, and you do not need an appointment to browse. See what is on display on our Hunter Douglas page, or request a free consultation.
